Academy Boarding Kennels is a locally owned and operated kennel. Owners, Carolee and John, are present to assist you along with their passionate staff. Carolee holds a Master Degree in Animal Nutrition from Texas A & M University. Previous to the kennel’s opening she worked for many years as a volunteer at Albuquerque Animal Humane Association and served on their board for five years. She was also a very active member of the Sandia Dog Obedience Club here in Albuquerque, volunteering as an instructor in puppy and adult obedience classes. John holds a Master Degree in Health Physics from Texas A & M university. Previous to the kennel’s opening he worked for the Department of Defense and Department of Energy here in Albuquerque and various other states. Our kennel is located on 2.5 acres in the beautiful White Mountains of northeastern Arizona (approximately 3 hours from Phoenix and 3-1/2 hours from Albuquerque, New Mexico). We frequently take all our dogs for conditioning in the ponderosa pine forests that surround our home and expose them to a variety of environments, wildlife and stimulating smells, sights and sounds.
